Estate Planning - " Don't Leave a Mess; Leave a Legacy

May 21, 2026 5:30 PM

Wendy has more than 30 years’ experience as a lawyer primarily working in property matters including advising on Wills, and managing Estates and Trusts as well as Conveyancing and Relationship Property Matters.

For many years Wendy has had her own legal firm on Auckland’s North Shore. However, these days she spends her time travelling around New Zealand as an author and speaker presenting talks on the importance of keeping a good record of your personal details in one book. This is to ensure that in the event of your death the administration of your estate can be carried out efficiently and cost effectively.

In her experience as a lawyer Wendy has found that one of the reasons it can take longer to finalise an estate is the time spent by the executors and family gathering the relevant information about the deceased. If this information were in one comprehensive book the estate administration process would be far simpler, less distressing and more cost effective for the deceased’s family.

To assist you with your estate planning Wendy has created The Estate Planner Book. This is an easy-to-follow record book in which you can write down all your important personal information in one place.

Wendys talk will explain why you need to create this comprehensive record and what information you should write down.

In addition to The Estate Planner Wendy has written “Don’t Leave a Mess; Leave a Legacy which is the companion book to The Estate Planner. This book is the why and how guide to completing The Estate Planner and essential for those who have not heard Wendy’s presentation or those who want a written guide to refer to when completing their Estate Planner.

So Don’t Leave a Mess behind for your loved ones, Leave a Legacy. The completed Estate Planner is by far the best legacy you can leave.
