Edmund Hillary School has organised a camp for 90 of their year 6-8 students in mid- May.  They will go to the YMCA’s Camp Adair at Hunua.  This will be the first camp the school has held for over 12 years.  The cost is close to $28,000, and with assistance from various trusts they have raised a considerable amount towards the cost.  Dave Lockwood from Camp Adair approached our club to see if we could assist with the balance required of about $6,000.

Our Club has coordinated funding of $2,000 each from Downtown Club, (which has the school as one of their projects this year), a District Grant and our own funds to raise a total of $6,000.

The students will benefit greatly from the new experiences they will encounter at this camp.

Raina Nock, the Principal, is over the moon that Rotary has been able to assist, and invited representatives from both clubs to attend a school assembly on April 4th.
