From the President's Desk

Hi again fellow Rotarians,

We seem to be doing a lot of fellowship events lately, which has been fun. The brunch at Ardmore Café was no exception with another great turnout. Thanks Malcolm for organising this one.

Dave Glossop from the New Zealand Police was our speaker for Thursday. Hearing from someone at the coal face with a passion for our community was inspiring. It will be really good to get him back to speak on Afghanistan and his role over there.

This week we have our new member Paul Catlow talking about hearing loss and what that means for us so make the effort to come along (there may be more than one of us need to hear what he has to say I am sure).

We will miss Murray over the next while as he and Pamela are off on Thursday for a cruise from Rome. They won't be back until late November, but hopefully we will be able to keep up with their adventures on Facebook.

Last but not least my closing comment for last Thursday; “Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly and most underrated agent of human change.

Cheers,
Jon

George’s comments on our last meeting

As a long serving member of Rotary Papakura I thought that I should make a few comments regarding our last meeting and congratulate all concerned for a very enjoyable experience. I came away absolutely glowing about the experience, with renewed energy given the enjoyment that the evening provided.

Imagine being cold and trying to sleep. Thanks to Papatoetoe Central Rotary, for some most in need this has changed for the better.

What value does your club have for young professionals?

Rotary, like any business, has customers. For us, those customers are our members and we must provide value to assure satisfied customers. The key to attracting and retaining young professional “customers” is presenting a Value Proposition that is attractive.

This is good blog post by By Michael Walstrom, president of the Rotary Club of Downtown Boca Raton, Florida.

Roger That!
We are what we repeatedly do.
