Rotary Club of Papakura Inc.

5th  May 2019 | Issue 36

From the President's Desk

Hello fellow Rotarians,
So this is it, my last week as President and what a year it has been!

I want to say a massive thank you to the whole club for the great support and help I have received over the last 12 Months. It really was a lot of fun, mixed in with some hard work which is often the best combination. Leading Papakura Rotary and working alongside you has been an honour and I am grateful I was given the opportunity. As a Club we have done ourselves proud and I believe we have had a substantial impact on our wider community.
Changeover registration is now closed for this Saturday. Remember this is a formal evening and a chance to flash it up a bit and based on last year will be good fun!
Tracey and I cannot be there for Lily’s speech on Thursday which is very sad as she has just been a fantastic exchange student. Please get behind her and come along to see her off. She did a great job at farewell of thanking her host families and the club. Not a dry eye in the house. You will be missed Lily!
See you all on Saturday night,
No Meeting for 2 Weeks!
Reminder: There will be no meeting on 18th April or 25 April. Our first meeting will back will be the 2nd of May.
Combined Meeting - 2 May
Our next Meeting will be the 2nd May for a combined meeting with Drury Rotary Club at our normal venue the Papakura RSA.  Maria Lovelock will be our guest speaker giving us an update and general overview of our National Programme RYDA. Partners night!
It was great to host and hear from the Papakura High School students about their RYPEN experience last Thursday evening. Great to see the programme having such a positive impact on our young people.
