From the President's Desk

Hello fellow Rotarians and other readers,
This weekend has seen Tracey and I work on numbers and roles for the Motorcycle Show for Saturday and Sunday. Warren and Barry have also been busy with this for setout and bike check, so most of the kinks should hopefully be sorted. I have emailed most of these to the people involved so check your inbox.
We have Cassidy coming on Thursday to give us a brief rundown on where she is heading for her Exchange next year, which should leave plenty of time for the final adjustments on the show.
We also dropped Lily off at the Airport for her South Island trip on Saturday and to say they were excited was an understatement!! I for one will be looking forward to the updates.
Quote for the week (sorry Robin I forgot last week),
“When I was young I used to admire intelligent people, as I grow older I admire kind people.”
Big week ahead! Thanks to everyone who has given up their time and expertise to make the NZ Motorcycle Show such a successful fundraiser and wonderful event for Auckland. Damn proud to be part of this awesome Club.
World Polio Day

The Rotary Club of Papakura, like all Rotary clubs around the world, helps support the mission to eradicate Polio.

Watch the fourth annual World Polio Day event, co-hosted with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Rotary streamed live from CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, bringing together more than 50,000 viewers around the world. Joining Rotary were celebrities and experts to share our progress on the road to polio eradication. Watch here

On Tuesday we held our first free Maths Tuition for the local community at the Karaka learning centre.
Fellowship Takes Flight

Last Sunday saw a few of us spend the morning at the Ardmore Cafe for a fellowship Brunch. Again, it was great company with plenty of laughs. Thanks to everyone who came along.
Ho, Ho, Ho's almost that time of the Year

District Corner

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Queens Necklace (District 3141) partnered with the Rotary Club of Auckland Harbourside to gain a Global Grant for Project Rotary Save Our Sisters to train women at the shelter for human trafficking survivors with the skills they need to become gainfully employed, and live a life of dignity and self-respect.

When a President gives a job to those that are smarter than them, it proves the President is smarter than they are.
