Rotary Club of Papakura Inc.

3rd March 2019 | Issue 29

From the President's Desk

Hello fellow Rotarians,
So last week we had the Club Assembly for those of you that missed the meeting.

It feels like we are on the right track after going through the goals and Strategic Plan from the last few years, which is promising for the future.
It has been a very busy weekend for me, managed to remove another 38 possums on Friday night then headed to the beach on Saturday morning on the bikes. Saturday night I found myself at the Blues Chiefs in a corporate box and then finished the weekend at LETS (leadership Elect Training) on Sunday. Tough life but someone has to do it.
Great to hear we have our RYLA spots filled thanks to Martin and Warren Mills too.

Quote of the week;
 (I read this last week while looking for quotes for RYLA and liked it.)
“The future needs passionate, happy, and confident young leaders willing to challenge the status quo and stand up for their convictions.” Richard Branson

See you all on Thursday,
Park Estate Year 4 - Thank You!

Robin and Peter went to the Park Estate School Assembly to present the Rotary Pictorial Illustrated Dictionaries to 29 of the year 4 students. These are handed out each year by the Rotary Club of Papakura in association with the Bill and Lorna Boyd Trust. These dictionaries will have their names in them and they can take them home. Robin and Peter enjoyed our involvement in the school assembly.

The Travelling Wilsons

Hi everyone! Well India has certainly made an impression on us and we have already seen so much that it is mind blowing. What a deeply sensitive and humble people they are and so kind to animals that it’s a great lesson to us!
