AGM for the Kootuitui Trust
George, Bernie and Peter attended the AGM for the Kootuitui Trust held at Papakura High School.  Chairman Lee Auton who is doing a great job for the Trust as he is such an inspirational leader.
Some may remember that Lee presented the Trust workings to us at one of our Club Meetings a couple of years ago. At that time, it did seem to be a complex challenge however after listening to his report for the past year they have gone from strength to strength and their results are nothing short of outstanding.

Papakura Rotary Year 35  1982 – 83

President Bill MacMillan  (Live Stock Buying)
1982 Bill Macmillan lead the Club to successfully raise $11,000 for the I. H. C. to build a new workshop. Two innovative ways of raising money were the “Top Town Competition” at the Clevedon Carnival and “Talking Turkey”. Over 400 turkeys were sold.  2000 “Kiwi Kid Calendars” were distributed to school children. Tears flowed down the faces of grown men as we peeled sacks of onions for the I.H.C.
A highlight of the year was the musical evening where the star performers were Rotarians, wives and families. Talent evident was quite staggering. A “Hutspot” Dutch evening was greatly enjoyed by all.
