From the President's Desk

Hello fellow Rotarians and other readers,
This weekend has seen Tracey and I work on numbers and roles for the Motorcycle Show for Saturday and Sunday. Warren and Barry have also been busy with this for setout and bike check, so most of the kinks should hopefully be sorted. I have emailed most of these to the people involved so check your inbox.
We have Cassidy coming on Thursday to give us a brief rundown on where she is heading for her Exchange next year, which should leave plenty of time for the final adjustments on the show.
We also dropped Lily off at the Airport for her South Island trip on Saturday and to say they were excited was an understatement!! I for one will be looking forward to the updates.
Quote for the week (sorry Robin I forgot last week),
“When I was young I used to admire intelligent people, as I grow older I admire kind people.”
Big week ahead! Thanks to everyone who has given up their time and expertise to make the NZ Motorcycle Show such a successful fundraiser and wonderful event for Auckland. Damn proud to be part of this awesome Club.

Hamper Help

Fellowship committee would like to thank those members who have already contributed items for the Christmas hamper raffle. We would like everyone to contribute something towards this raffle.  Proceeds will be used to purchase food parcels for needy local families.
A date with Lily

Our RYE Student Lily has finished school for the year and is at a loose end until she heads away tp her South Island Trip on the 17 November.  It would be a wonderful chance for Lily to get the opportunity to get to know some of our members a little better - after all what makes our programme superior to others is they chance that these young people get to spend with Rotarians.
2018 Papakura Christmas Parade

Ho, Ho, Ho  it is just 13 days to go until the 2018 Papakura Christmas Parade!

Christmas Puddings - get your order in
Rotary Christmas Puddings are back. The time-honoured recipe is the same, the bakers are the same and they are still vacuum packed for long life and superb freshness but this year in a heat proof bowl.
Papakura High School Charitable Trust

On Wednesday 30th October Roger Goldstone and I met with Rosalie Freeman, a foundation Trustee of the newly formed Papakura High School Charitable Trust. The object of the meeting was to gain an understanding of their goals and aspirations and to try to link them with our own Papakura  Rotary desires to assist our Community. We were presented with a really informative Brochure which really spells out the background of each of the four trustees and illustrates their linkage to the School and story behind the trigger that set them on this journey.
