On Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September, some 300 students took part in the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness Course.  A first for an Auckland School as the RYDA course ran at the School and without the usual Rotarian Stewards.

This two day programme was well received by both the pupils and teachers alike and having two fine days assisted in the total success of the programme.
The reason for the mention of this programme is twofold as on the one hand it was a first to be run at a School and secondly to illustrate our sincere thanks for the continuing support of Active Traffic Control. Who always step up and supply the Safety Cones for the Stopping distance session of the programme.
Thanks to Tunisia and Mellissa from Active for their unswerving support and their generosity is greatly appreciated. This really assists in keeping our costs down in these challenging times and significantly supporting our ability to reach the numbers of students that we can accommodate.

Papakura Rotarians always help where we can with this programme and although we only supplied the cones, at least we remain involved.
Cheers George
