There were 22 members present for the meeting on 22 July.

We joined with Drury Rotary for the District Governor's visit.  Along with DG Vidya Nand we also had DGE Kirsten Hawke and Rajiv Pandey from the Harbourside Rotary Club.
DG Vidya outlined the RI goals for 2024/25 and also his own goals for the district.  He spoke about how District 9920 will work with the regional team of directors and Rotary Community Leaders.  We wish Vidya all the best with his year, which I am sure will be a successful one.

DG Vidya's final message was to invite all members to attend the joint District 9920/30 Conference in Rotorua, 16-18 May 2025.  It promises to be an excellent conference with the two districts combining to bring together a large, diverse group of committed Rotarians.

Our newest member, exchange student Eden Saintonge, introduced herself to the Club.  Eden is really excited for her year ahead and wants to get to know you all and become involved in our club and projects.

Alan Mackay was our 3-minute speaker - although it was a generous 3 minutes.  Alan told us of the history of Magnetic Island and the enjoyable time he had there.

Rotary Club survey - there have been 25 responses to date.  I will close the survey on Sunday so still time for those who have not responded to have their say. Next week our speaker will be Deanna Louis who has recently returned from Malawi.  I look forward to seeing you all there.
