The Education Scholarship committee is thrilled to announce that ten outstanding local students have been selected to receive scholarships for 2026 following a rigorous selection process.

A Strong Field of Applicants
This year, the committee—comprised of Brian, Morris, and Donna—received seventeen applications from students across several colleges, including Rosehill College, Papakura High School, and Strathallan College. We were also pleased to receive an application from a Papakura resident attending Howick College. After careful consideration, 13 students were interviewed before the ten successful recipients were chosen.
Funding Our Future Leaders
We are proud to share that these scholarships are funded in part by Rotary Foundation D9920 District Grants and significantly by the Papakura Rotary Club through our dedicated community fundraising efforts. This support ensures we can continue investing in the potential of our local students.
Presenting the Awards
The scholarships were presented at the colleges' recent prize-giving ceremonies:
- Rosehill College: Donna attended the prize-giving last Thursday evening (October 30th) and proudly presented certificates to the seven chosen students from the college.
- Papakura High School: Brian attended the prize giving on October 30th. Brian presented the prestigious Noel Bryant Award. A highlight was seeing last year's Science and Technology Forum attendee, Taranvir Singh, receive the Noel Bryant Scholarship. Taranvir was also awarded Dux of Papakura High School.
Upcoming Celebration
The 2026 scholarship winners will be our special guests at the Rotary meeting on 4th December, where they will be recognized alongside last year's recipients. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and future success!
