What an incredible day for the Papakura community! The long-awaited Rotary Papakura Christmas Festival and Santa Parade delivered a spectacular celebration on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, drawing massive crowds to the new, buzzing venue at Bruce Pulman Park.
The day was a brilliant testament to the spirit and diversity of our community. The sun shone down generously, providing the perfect, safe atmosphere for families who packed the park to enjoy the huge variety of market stalls, delicious food vendors, and fun activities offered by countless community groups. The move to Bruce Pulman Park proved an overwhelming success, accommodating the largest turnout yet for this cherished annual event.

A Parade of Community Spirit
The parade itself was a magnificent showcase of local talent and essential services, proudly led off by the NZ Police and Fire and Emergency NZ.
Highlights of the spectacular line-up included:
- Music and Movement: The air was filled with festive sounds from Brass Bands and Pipe Bands, alongside the rhythm of the D3 Drummers and the energy of the Allstar Cheerleaders.
- Family Favourites: Cheering crowds greeted beloved figures like The Grinch, Cookie Bear, Harold the Giraffe, and various Cartoon Characters, plus beautiful nativity scenes.
- Community Showcase: A huge range of local groups participated, including Kura Connect, Papakura Childcare Centre, Counties Manukau Gymnastics, Massey Park Pool, Girl Guides, and local service groups like the Papakura Coastguard and Māori Wardens, truly reflecting the vibrancy of Papakura life.
We were honoured to welcome special guests, including local MP Judith Collins, who enjoyed the day's events, and, of course, the grand finale everyone waited for—Santa Claus himself!
A Heartfelt Thank You
The success of this festival is a direct result of the incredible support from our participants, sponsors (including the invaluable Papakura Local Board), and every single volunteer who dedicated their time and effort.
A huge thank you to every person, group, and vendor who attended and participated. It was a great day out for all, and a true reflection of the proud, vibrant, and giving spirit of Papakura!
