The Papakura community is set for another year of valuable support, thanks to the overwhelming success of the 2025 NZ Motorcycle Show, held on the weekend of October 18th and 19th. The event, which has been a staple since 2012, once again drew in a massive crowd, with over 4,000 attendees pouring through the doors.

Once again, the show was masterfully run by the Premier Events team, led by Azhar, sponsored by Star Insure, Ride Forever, Kora Cards and CF Moto, and powered by the dedicated volunteers of the Rotary Club of Papakura and friends.

Funding Our Future

The profits generated from this popular show are the lifeblood for many of our crucial community programs. These funds enable us to continue investing in the future of Papakura through:

  • Educational Scholarships
  • Youth Programs like RYLA, RYDA, RYPEN, MUNA, and Scitech
  • Hearing Screening at Papakura High School
  • The Reading Enrichment Program
  • Our signature 75th-anniversary project, which supports Drowning Prevention Auckland with programs in three local schools.

...along with numerous other smaller projects that make a difference in our area.

A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers

None of this impact would be possible without the incredible effort and goodwill of our volunteers. The tireless hard work involved in managing the carpark, handling ticket and merchandise sales, and performing a great array of other tasks is what truly makes this event a success.

We want to give a massive Thank You to every person who gave up their weekend. Special recognition goes out to the generous volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Drury, Manurewa-Takaninni, Waiuku, Newmarket, and St Johns Ellerslie, as well as the wonderful Rylarians, and all the partners, friends, and family who stepped up.

This year, Rotary also proudly hosted a stand at the show, which was capably manned with the support of the Rotary Clubs of Parnell, Remuera, and Waiheke Island.

Finally, our deepest gratitude goes to Graeme Viall, the long-standing champion and driving force behind the Motorcycle Show for Papakura Rotary. And a huge thank you is also owed to the dedicated team who put together the successful volunteer plan: Sue and Ted Lees, Warren Megget, and George Wilson. Their work ensured the entire weekend ran smoothly.

Thank you to everyone who supported, attended, and volunteered. We're already looking forward to 2026! Watch this Space.
