The Rotary Club of Manurewa is making a tangible difference in their community with the Warm Hearts project, a fantastic initiative that provides food bags to elderly residents in council flats across Manurewa and Takanini. This project is a shining example of Rotary’s commitment to local service and support.

Each year, dedicated Rotarians gather to assemble food bags filled with essential, nourishing items. These aren't just any food parcels; they are carefully curated with senior citizens in mind, often including staples like tinned goods, and other pantry necessities. The project's focus is on ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our community feel supported and cared for.

After the bags are packed, volunteers hit the road to deliver them directly to the doorsteps of seniors. This personal touch is a key part of the Warm Hearts project, as it also provides an opportunity for a friendly chat and a chance to check in on the residents. For many, this delivery is a highlight of their month, offering not only food but also companionship and a sense of connection.

The Warm Hearts project is a testament to the power of community action. It embodies Rotary's core values of service and fellowship, demonstrating how a small group of passionate people can come together to address a significant need. The Rotary Club of Manurewa is proud to support the seniors in our area, ensuring they have access to nutritious food and, most importantly, know that they are not forgotten.

The club is looking for helpers to fill bags and help deliver them. If you can help please contact Janet ph 0274536990
