Team Lima  on stage at last Fridays Awards Dinner and Presentations at Willow Park Christian Camp Eastern Beach.

Well what a night was had by all! The winning team were only a whisker higher that the next two teams so high was the quality of the participants, who were drawn from across our district.

Peter Wilcock and myself were so proud to be in the company of such vibrant excited young people who exhibit so much energy and talent. They had just completed the week long residential course for young adults, where they were challenged beyond imagination. They were provided with an experience that they will  truly never forget. In most cases it will change their lives, forever building on the existing leadership qualities in these young people who are ready and enthusiastic, to take of the mantle of responsibility.

Jazz and Freya (sponsored by our Club to attend) so were on our table at the Dinner.  Whilst neither were in the winning Team, they were a couple of very popular Awardees and extremely talented young ladies, who really benefited from this illuminating experience. They were both exhausted at the end but really grateful for the opportunity that Rotary Papakura has  given them and both will become stronger leaders for the experience.

The Rota Pacific team were also very popular and did their Countries proud with smiles all round on the final night. There were numerous mentions of their value by several presenters on the evening, again proving the value of our continued support of this  District Project.

Well done to our District Youth Chair Peter Ross (who was presented with a District PHF Sapphire) and to the Newmarket Club.  I would like to congratulate the Defence Force Personnel who not only presented the 24 Evolution Experiences for the programme but also performed such a great item at the dinner.

This valuable Rotary Programme is a must see for all Rotarians and a visit to any of the presentations can usually be organised or an offer to help the organising club is always greatly appreciated. It is held every year during the first week iof July at Willow park and although both of our sponsored awardees will share their experience with us at our meeting there is just nothing like experiencing the vibrations and excitement personally.
