Donna Cox recently forwarded an inspiring letter from Shreshaa Guhan, a recipient of a Rotary Club scholarship, which offers a wonderful update on her first year of university.
Shreshaa is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with the ultimate goal of a career in medicine1. While acknowledging the first year has been a "big adjustment" and challenging, requiring her to balance studies, long transport times, and home life 2, her demanding subjects have only confirmed her passion for understanding the human body and helping others in healthcare.
Shreshaa expressed sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club for the generous scholarship, noting that the support "has meant a great deal" and helped ease her transition into university.
During moments when she questioned herself, Shreshaa was motivated by the reminder that Rotary chose to support her because the club “saw potential and believed in my ability to succeed”. This belief has genuinely helped her "push through the hard days and keep striving toward [her] goals”.
Looking Ahead
Shreshaa is determined to continue working hard and making the most of her opportunities7. She expressed deep gratitude not just for the financial help, but for the reminder that her community is behind her and believes in her goals.
We wish Shreshaa all the best as she continues her studies!
