A huge thank you to Rotarians Lloyd Williams, Robert Higham, Allan McKay, and Andrew Harvey for their dedication at Saturday's very damp tree planting at Charles Henry Way. Despite an overnight deluge and slippery conditions (Andrew even took a tumble!), our team helped plant around 500 specialty grasses and flaxes.

This vital environmental project was a fantastic partnership between Sustainable Papakura, Auckland Council, Rotary, Papakura Community Patrol, and about 80 enthusiastic residents. While the rain limited our scope, spirits remained high, fueled by delicious Rotary-cooked sausages (with plenty of caramelized onions!) and vegetarian options.
Special thanks to Jill Yellowlees of Sustainable Papakura, along with Lionel Tam, Shree Swamarayn, and the Park Ranger, for driving this essential community effort. It was a morning of great fellowship and valuable environmental service. Mark your calendars: another planting opportunity is coming on August 2nd at Opakeke Park.
