Papakura Rotary is once again partnering with Rosehill Special School for an exciting new event! Following her attendance at a conference in Ireland, which was made possible with our assistance, Tracey Lee Dalton is putting her learnings into action to create more active opportunities for students with special needs.
This year, on Friday, August 22nd, a national day dedicated to celebrating special schools across New Zealand, we will host Try Play at Bruce Pulman Arena. The event is a fun and active way for students to celebrate, and unlike previous events, it will be exclusively for students with special needs.
The entire Rosehill Special School student body, including students from all 14 of their satellite classes, will be in attendance. We expect around 350 students, aged 5 to 22, to participate in the day's activities.
How You Can Help
We're looking for volunteers to assist on the day. Your primary role will be to help monitor the various exits at Bruce Pulman Arena to ensure the safety of all students. We need to cover at least 10 exits, so having enough volunteers will allow for breaks and provide the option for volunteers to buddy up.
The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Your help in manning the exits will be greatly appreciated and will contribute to a safe and successful day for these students.
If you are able to assist, please contact George.
